Psyonix released a little more info on the new Blueprints system of Rocket League

There’s a new Blueprint system coming to Rocket League in December’s update to replace loot crates, giving players a more clear indication what they are getting with their drops. When announced, not much was known about exactly how this new system would work, but Psyonix has provided additional details. Once the update hits in December, you’ll be able to acquire Blueprints from Online matches. At this point, you’ll be able to use Credits to build items using the Blueprint, trade it with another player, or keep it. You’ll also have the chance to experiment with both revealed and unrevealed Blueprints.

Any unopened loot crates you have in your inventory will be converted to unrevealed Blueprints after the update. Revealing the Blueprint will then show you what can be built with it. In addition, you’ll have the chance to trade items with other players, such as revealed Blueprints, items built from Blueprints, and free drops. However, you won’t be able to trade unrevealed Blueprints. Psyonix also revealed that you'll be able to trade credits, the new premium currency you need to unlock blueprints, in certain circumstances. The main takeaway here is that you'll be swap credits as long as only one player is offering the currency in a trade. Another important restriction is that you can't offer credits to another player for free -- you have to receive something as part of the transaction.

Decryptors, an item that allows you to open a loot crate without purchasing a key first, will be phased out as part of next month's update. If you happen to have any decryptors in your inventory, they'll be converted to bonus gifts, which you can open for free. Lastly, once the new in-game economy is up and running, you'll only be able to trade in items you got for free from a post-game drop. Rocket Pass items will still be ineligible for trade-ins.

Also, Decryptors will no longer be offered, and those in your inventory will be converted into Bonus Gifts. Only free items obtained via post-game drops will be eligible to trade-in, while free Rocket Pass items will remain ineligible.
