Rocket League Will Become an Epic Store Exclusive

Finding and staying with teammates across games is also an important social aspect of the online gaming experience it's how I've made some great online friends. Since Rocket League is such a community-oriented game, this feature feels long overdue. Partying up after finding a teammate you click with and continuing to dominate in game after game is one of the most fun experiences you can have in Rocket League. Since the announcement, we've learned through an Epic interview with Variety that Rocket League and all of its updates and future DLC will continue to be available on Steam for those who already own the game on the platform. However, it's unconfirmed at the moment if Rocket League will become an Epic Store exclusive after the takeover, though it's highly likely.

Epics statement is clear that there are two periods of time the time before it comes to the Epic Store, when you can buy a copy on Steam, and the time afterwards, when the best you can expect for sure is that your existing copy will still work. But Epic wants you to know that it hasn't technically announced that the game will stop being sold on Steam. Not yet: We are continuing to sell Rocket League on Steam, and have not announced plans to stop selling the game there. Rocket League remains available for new purchasers on Steam, and long-term plans will be announced in the future, an Epic spokesperson tells The Verge.

Rocket League was created with Epics Unreal game engine and launched on PC and PlayStation 4 in 2015. When you beloved this post in addition to you wish to be given guidance about Rocket League Boosting I implore you to stop by our own page. It was later ported to Xbox One and Nintendo Switch as well. Psyonix revealed in 2017 the game has surpassed more than 10.5 million copies sold across all platforms. It now has more than 57 million players.

Along with allowing for simpler team building, the Party-Up function will hopefully make queuing solo in competitive playlists less chaotic since you can easily hold onto good teammates, and players will be better able to take advantage of the XP bonuses for queuing as a party. It should also slim down your friends list, since you'll no longer need to have dozens of random friends simply tagged as "Rocket League". According to the Summer Roadmap, players can look forward to this feature coming out "later this year" along with more Quality of Life improvements to trading and inventory management.

Personally, I believe that the move to Epic Games is an incredible opportunity for Rocket League that will boost both the game's development and the esports scene to new heights. Epic Games can't realistically change the core gameplay that makes Rocket League so great, and players should look forward to the increase in resources for game patches and funding for the esports scene. It sounds like the two versions of the game will coexist in the PC market on the separate platforms, but both companies fail to mention if player profiles and inventories will transfer between the two, what will become of Rocket League's plentiful Steam Workshop content, and what sort of changes to the game they can expect.
